It has system interchanges with Loop 101 and, in east Mesa near Ellsworth Road, with Loop 202. In the West Valley, US 60 is Grand Avenue, a surface highway with at-grade intersections. It runs northwest from the I-17 area through Phoenix and the Glendale area to Surprise, crosses Loop 303 and continues to Wittmann. At 35th Avenue and Indian School Road in Phoenix, cross traffic still crosses the BNSF Railway tracks next to Grand Avenue. Freeways and exits
- The Superstition Freeway (US 60) runs from Tempe through Mesa to Apache Junction and is named for the Superstition Mountains. Its first segment, between I-10 and Mill Avenue, opened in 1971, and the freeway reached Apache Junction in 1991.
- US 60 (Superstition Freeway) has a system interchange with Loop 101 (Price Freeway), including a ramp from southbound Loop 101 to eastbound US 60.
- In east Mesa, US 60 has ramps to both northbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) and southbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway). ADOT places the eastbound ramp to northbound Loop 202 just west of Ellsworth Road.
- The 14-mile stretch of US 60 between Loop 101 and Loop 202 passes crossroads including Dobson, Gilbert and Greenfield roads.

It includes overnight lane narrowing on Grand Avenue and cross streets, such as westbound Grand Avenue down to one lane from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. near Bethany Home Road, Myrtle Avenue and Northern Avenue.
- Construction on the Grand Avenue/35th Avenue/Indian School Road intersection in Phoenix is expected to begin in summer 2027 and take about two years. Grand Avenue will stay at ground level with three lanes in each direction.
- During monsoon season ADOT reminds drivers to 'Pull Aside, Stay Alive' and not to drive into dust storms.
